Our Story
Making travel easier,
more social and more accessible for all.
Travel should feel exciting. Not overwhelming. Not lonely. Not confusing.
Yet for many people, especially when arriving somewhere unfamiliar, travel can feel intimidating. You land in a new city, do not know where to go, what to do, who to trust, or how to make the most of your experience. Even experienced travellers can feel uncertain.
Ibexia was built to change that.
After years of travelling, planning trips, and seeing how people actually travel today, one thing became clear: there is incredible travel knowledge online, but it is scattered everywhere.
Social media is full of useful advice, hidden gems, routes, itineraries, and experiences from people who genuinely know what they are talking about. But too often, that knowledge disappears into short videos, buried comments, saved folders, and dozens of different apps. Great travel advice is difficult to organise, difficult to trust, and even harder to actually use when you need it most.
At the same time, travel can feel surprisingly disconnected. People struggle to meet others, find activities, organise plans, or feel confident exploring somewhere new.
What we built
Ibexia was built as a better solution.
A place to discover places properly. To connect with fellow travellers. To create and join activities. To save memories and build your own travel map. To ask questions, share experiences, and feel part of a global travel community.
Most importantly, it was built to help people travel with more confidence.
Whether you are planning your first solo trip, backpacking across countries, exploring a new city for the weekend, or searching for hidden gems, Ibexia is designed to help make travel feel easier, more social, and more enjoyable.

The marketplace
A better home for travel knowledge
Alongside the app, Ibexia is also building a better home for travel knowledge.
Some of the best travel advice comes from people who have actually done the trip. Creators, backpackers, photographers, road trippers, and experienced travellers spend years learning what really works. The best routes. Real budgets. Hidden places. Mistakes to avoid.
Yet there has never been a clean, organised place for them to share that expertise in a genuinely useful way.
That is why Ibexia includes a travel marketplace where creators can share guides, itineraries, road trips, destination lists, and practical travel knowledge, while travellers can discover and access that expertise all in one place.
The vision
To become the ultimate travel companion, helping people feel more inspired, more confident, and more connected wherever they explore.
Because travel should feel easier, more social and more accessible for everyone.

Questions about Ibexia
Is Ibexia just a guide marketplace?
The web product is a marketplace. You can buy and sell expert travel guides right now. The mobile app expands this into a full travel companion: maps, saved places, community, and activities.
How is Ibexia different from other travel sites?
Most travel content is SEO-optimised filler. Ibexia is built around real creators and their genuine knowledge. Every guide comes from a verified traveller who has actually done the trip. No AI copy, no agencies.
Who is behind Ibexia?
Ibexia was founded by JJ, a solo developer and travel creator who got frustrated with how fragmented and generic travel tools were. The goal is simple: build the travel companion that makes exploring easier, more social, and more useful for everyone.
How does Ibexia make money?
Ibexia takes a 20% platform commission on guide sales. Creators keep 80%. There are no listing fees and no exclusivity requirements. We grow when our creators grow.
Is the app available?
The iOS app is currently in beta on TestFlight. Request access at ibexiaapp.com/start. The Android app is planned for later in 2026.
